This group of works was based on one of the Teen Programs called Artist Studios in the Whitney Museum of American Art. I helped facilitate and created a prompt with the guidance of the Assistant to Teen Programs, to help establish this project to happen. The project was based on the exhibition Danny Lyon: Message To The Future. Before starting the project, teens need to explore Danny Lyon’s exhibition to see the different techniques of photography and how he used texts to explain his photographs. After that, teens are able to take a polaroid picture by one of the facilitators, and then, just like Danny Lyon, write text or collage different material around the poloroid to help describe their picture. On display are sample works of teens and some of the facilitators.
