Spring 2024, NYC
Krysta Camea or what most people call her, Camie, is an optimistic individual influenced by the arts. As a young girl, she was inspired by many international artists such as Hayao Miyazaki, Yayoi Kusama, Vincent Van Gogh, Jackson Pollock, and Jasper Johns. Her inspiration for art-making is connected with the trial and error of experiences in her personal life. She is also driven by those in her living environment’s social, emotional, and political experiences.
She graduated from the City College of New York with a BA in Studio Art and a minor in Asian Studies, focusing on Japanese culture. She also received her Master of Science in Teaching from Bank Street College of Education in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL).
In her free time, you’ll find her taking pictures of plants or cats, crowd-surfing in concerts, or playing video games.
Currently, Camie lives and teaches in the New York Metropolitan area under the NYC Public School System.
