Summer, 2021, NYC
Krysta Camea or what most people call her, Camie, is an optimistic individual who is influenced by the arts. As a young girl, she was inspired by many international artists such as Hayao Miyazaki, Yayoi Kusama, Vincent Van Gogh, Jackson Pollock, and Jasper Johns. Her inspiration with art-making is connecting with the trial and error of experiences in her personal life. She is also driven by the social, emotional, and political experiences of those in her living environment.
She is a graduate of the City College of New York with a BA in Studio Art and a minor in Asian Studies, focusing on Japanese culture. She recently obtained her MST from Bank Street College of Education in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL).
In her free time, you’ll find her taking pictures of food and dogs, crowd-surfing in concerts, or playing video games.
Currently, Camie lives and teaches in the New York Metropolitan area.
