Krysta Camea or what most people call her, Camie, is an optimistic individual who is influenced by the arts. As a young girl, she was inspired by many international artists such as Hayao Miyazaki, Yayoi Kusama, Vincent Van Gogh, Jackson Pollock, and Jasper Johns. Her inspiration with art-making is connecting with the trial and errors of experiences in her personal life. She is also driven by the social, emotional, and political experiences of those in her living environment.
She is a graduate of the City College of New York with a BA in Studio Art and a minor in Asian Studies, focusing on Japanese culture. She is currently in Bank Street College of Education as a participant of their TESOL residency program.
In her free time, you’ll find her getting immersed in the latest Japanese manga series, taking pictures of food or dogs, crowd-surfing in concerts, or playing video games.
Currently, Camie lives and works in the New York metropolitan area.
